Family Story Project

Interview · Record · Review · Preserve · Share

Doing Oral History in our 'Family Stories' project involves the collection, recording, and preservation of spoken memories from family members about their firsthand experiences. These interviews are conducted by family members, which provides an authentic, insider perspective, creating a living legacy for future generations. The recorded interviews are archived to facilitate sharing within the family and with friends, and can also be made available to the public, if desired.

Choose a family member whose story you would like to know more about, obtain his/her consent, select whether to use this website to do an onsite interview or remote recording of your interview on either your smart phone, using zoom or any other of your choice and then upload your video to the website. After doing the interview and it is on our website in your 'Studio' which is your working space, you will review the video, transcription, keywords and a short summary generated by AI and make corrections as needed. You may also upload relevant photos and/or documents.

You may also tell your own story without an interviewer.

Once you have reviewed and approved of the video with its transcription, you may wish to share the video with friends and family or even the general public. The choice is yours.
